Mr. Onishi is the 4th generation potter in his famikly and is building up a great reputation through his modern breaking explorations and reinterpretations of traditional and functional desingns at his family’s kiln, Tanbun-gama.
Masafumi Onishi still relies on the Nobori-gama (Climbling kiln) to fire much of his works in the traditional manner.
