“An Omnidirectional
Gain Antenna for UHF without Radials”.
Designed by Dr. Ed Fong WB6IQN of Univ. of
California (formally at Berkeley and presently at Santa Cruz – Silicon Valley).
It is US Patent 8,947,313.
This antenna offers +5dB gain over a ground
plane and has no ground radials. It is only 3 1/2 feet tall.
Perfect for repeaters, backup repeaters,
portable repeaters or base station.
This
antenna was originally developed under a grant from AC Daugherty Inc. for a
MESH network.
It has a small foot print
and therefore can withstand 150MPH winds.
It is basically a 2 element vertical phase collinear separate by ½
lambda but with very low loss coupling elements.
Each antenna is custom built and tuned to your
requested frequency by me or my graduate students. Profits from these antennas
go to my group.
For general HAM use, a
center of 445 MHz is adequate.
For
commercial use, we request your desired transmit frequency so we can custom
tune the antenna for optimum performance.
Default connector is SO-239 ( N type is available for $5 exra – just leave me a note after your purchase).

This antenna is complete
with exception of the 3 1/2 feet of ¾ inch Class 200 PVC pipe needed for the
antenna.  Individual shipping of the 4 ft antenna is $10 so we rather you
go to Lowe’s (stock # 23990)  or
Menard (SKU #6899684) and buy the PVC pipe for about $1.  If you cannot
find the PVC pipe, I can ship the antenna with the PVC pipe.  Please email
me if you need me to send the antenna with the PVC pipe.
This will be $10 extra due to the postage.

article and also the patent upon request.
The antenna has a lifetime warranty.  Just return
it and it will be either repaired or a new one sent to you or 100% cash refund
(no questions asked).
